Lead Concept Artist and Designer with a proven history of being first on a project to lay down art direction, mood and setting.Currently: Senior Lead Concept Artist on DUNE at FuncomI have worked on award winning games across PC, Mobile and Consoles, also Advertising and on Blockbuster Film. I have handled artist hiring, outsource management, delivery of assets, managing a team and being left to build a project autonomously.World building is my passion, I love mentoring other artists and pushing the project to be visually stunning while really connecting with the viewer.Example projects I have worked on: Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Elite Dangerous, Total War Worked for the following companies: Square-Enix, Space Ape Games, Hasbro, Tiger Aspect, Bethesda, Punch Drunk, Sumo Digital, SEGA , films and many more, most of that is under NDA, but I'll post up stuff as it appears. When not creating art work I like to walk around staring at things, read books, and do some stereotypical nerdy activities like playing ttrpgs like Dungeons and Dragons, Blades in the Dark. Play on screen games and read about science & history.

Character Designs

Junonia is the Fey Hobgoblin, Smuggler Wizard.Her spell book is made of carved teeth, ivory and shells that she wears across her body and hair.Her resistant wetsuit is made by the drow from giant nudibranch leather.Inspiration for her coat is a 1947 Charles James evening coat.

This is my ribbon twirling, umbrella wielding glamour bard, her name is:Oscilia Foxglove!Here's the design process from post-its to final sheet, this character design was utter comfort zone and a lot of fun to draw together many of my favourite things!

The Ocelot knight works for a magical lending library and has to collect late fees and lost books.Magi are notoriously slow at returning any sources of power they have begun to believe they should have.

Ekho is a grumpy knight of vengeance.

Nilus

The Nilus is a deep space courier with limited atmospherics, primarily used to ferry water to outer planets (and maybe a bit of smuggling).A blender project, enjoying playing around in Blender.Heavily inspired by a visit to the Buran at Speyer.

Transformers Earth WarsI was the first Concept Artist on Transformers: Earth wars, tasked with breaking down the visual language of Transformers and creating style guides.During production I was responsible for the character pipeline, dealing directly with Hasbro and our 3D and Animation team.Here's a small selection of the many many many Transformers Concepts I did.

Battlefield 2042: Art Direction - CosmeticsIt was a joy to head up the Art Direction of Hardware Cosmetics for Post Launch Battlefield 2042.For these tasks I wrote the briefs, gathered reference and gave daily feedback to a team of concept artists for 100s of assets.During production I would have regular meeting with design, production, tech art and rigging to ensure we were both tonally and technically aligned.After the concepts were approved I modified many in line with technical needs. (The concepts are all built on the base models for the game).This gallery contains a small selection of those concepts and those that we approved to be taken forward into a final asset.
